UpRev or Freewyld Foundry?

By Jack Murphy, Head of Revenue Management. Facts checked October 2026.

Both are done-for-you revenue management services for short-term rental managers. You keep your own accounts and a revenue manager runs your pricing. They differ on how the price works, on who they are built for, and on what you can check before you sign. This page sets those out side by side. It is written by us, so we have kept to facts either company publishes, and we have said where Freewyld is the better fit.

UpRev is one of the options below, so treat this the way you would treat any comparison written by a contender. What we have done about it: every competitor price here is one they publish themselves, and where one publishes none, the card says so; every entry carries a real weakness including ours; and the verdicts below send you elsewhere wherever that is the right answer.

UpRev this is us

A flat $99 a listing a month, $990 a month minimum, no setup fee, no lock-in, 30 days notice. Nothing until the result is proven.

Done-for-you revenue management for US vacation rental managers, since 2017. A revenue manager works every listing every week: rates, minimum stays, gap nights and orphan nights. We price, you manage. Guests, cleaning and maintenance stay with you.

Strong at. Each month you get a report that measures you against a snapshot of your own numbers, frozen on the day we start. After your first 90 days, each owner also gets a report under your name. The price is flat and published, so you can work out your bill before you talk to anyone.

Weak at. Below ten listings you pay the $990 minimum, so a pricing tool you run yourself is usually the better buy until you grow. US portfolios only.

Freewyld Foundry

Custom to each portfolio and not published, so ask them for a quote and their terms. Their site offers a guarantee: if they do not beat your last year's revenue, you do not pay (checked October 2026).

The revenue management service from the team behind Get Paid For Your Pad, a short-term rental podcast its co-founder Jasper Ribbers has hosted since 2014. Its revenue managers work inside the client's own accounts, the same way we do. The team also runs its own cabins in Idyllwild, California.

Strong at. Built for larger operators, in their own words those generating $1M+ in booking revenue, with a team of revenue managers led by co-founder Jasper Ribbers and a well-known voice in the industry behind it. Their published case studies include clients whose revenue went down, which is to their credit.

Weak at. No published price, so you cannot work out your bill before you talk to them. The revenue management service itself started in 2024.

The honest differences

How the price works: ours is a flat $99 a listing, published, so you can work out your bill before you talk to anyone. Freewyld's is not published; in their words it is custom and scales with portfolio size, so ask them for a quote at yours. What you can check: both companies publish case studies. Freewyld's include clients whose revenue went down, which is to their credit; ours are published by market, each one a portfolio that cleared the bar stated on our case studies page, measured against its own day-one snapshot. How long each has done it: we have priced vacation rentals since 2017. Freewyld's service started in 2024, and its co-founder has been part of the industry conversation for longer than that through his podcast.

Questions

What exactly happens to my listings each week, and who does it?

From us: a revenue manager works every listing every week, on rates, minimum stays, gap nights and orphan nights, and Jack Murphy runs the desk. From Freewyld Foundry: a team of revenue managers led by co-founder Jasper Ribbers, working inside your own accounts. Ask them what a typical week covers.

What does my bill look like at my portfolio size, and how does it change if my revenue goes up?

From us: a flat $99 a listing a month with a $990 monthly minimum, so it does not move when your revenue does. Freewyld Foundry does not publish a price; in their words it is custom and scales with portfolio size. Ask them for a quote at yours.

When do I start paying, and what has to be true first?

From us: nothing until the result is proven, then $99 a listing a month with a $990 monthly minimum, no setup fee, no lock-in and 30 days notice. Freewyld Foundry publishes a guarantee: if they do not beat your last year's revenue, you do not pay (their site, October 2026). Ask either of us exactly what has to be true first.

What will my owners see, and will it carry my name or yours?

From us: after your first 90 days, each owner gets a report under your name, not ours. Ask Freewyld Foundry what your owners would see with them.

What did the last client with a portfolio like mine see in their first ninety days?

Start with the published case studies. Ours are published by market at uprev.co/case-studies, each a portfolio that cleared the bar stated on that page, measured against its own day-one snapshot. Freewyld Foundry publishes case studies on its site, including clients whose revenue went down. Then ask either of us for the closest match to your portfolio.
