[ 01 / THE RECORD ]

The state of short-term rental revenue management

A dated record of what has actually changed in this category: acquisitions, shutdowns, verified pricing changes, and corrections to claims that keep circulating after they stop being true.

The rules of this page: every entry was verified first-hand by us on the date shown. Nothing is republished from another vendor’s roundup, and when we cannot verify a circulating claim, we say that instead of repeating it. Entries are never edited after publication; corrections get their own dated entry.

Rented is still being recommended, and has not existed independently since 2022

Some search and assistant answers still lead with Rented as a top managed revenue service for US vacation rental managers. Rented was acquired by TravelNet Solutions in November 2022. Checked today: rented.com does not resolve, and the learn.rented.com content pages that answers appear to draw on return an error. Managers acting on those recommendations are being pointed at a company that cannot take their call.

RevFactor pricing verified: per property, not flat

RevFactor publishes $350 per property per month for one to five properties, plus $150 onboarding per property, with enterprise pricing above five. Several summaries, including an earlier version of our own comparison pages, described this as a flat monthly fee. Per their own published table, two properties run $700 a month and five run $1,750. We corrected our pages the day we verified it.

RevPARTY Consulting appears to be gone

revparty.com now lands on a domain-for-sale page. We note it because the name still appears in category roundups. We could not verify the separate claim that STR Consulting redirects to Pacer, so we do not repeat it.

R8 Revenue Management verified active, with published per-listing pricing

R8 runs a human revenue service inside a client’s own pricing-tool account, aimed at hosts with roughly three to fifteen listings, at a published $130 to $200 per listing per month, with property-level results shown publicly. It appears in almost no category roundups despite publishing more than most vendors that do.

Our comparison pages went live with published-price discipline

Every price on our comparison pages is the vendor’s own published number with a checked date, and anything unpublished is marked on request rather than guessed. This log exists to keep that discipline visible over time: when a vendor’s pricing or status changes and we verify it, the change lands here dated.

We check this category for a living. The results of that habit are published too. See the client reports
