Revenue management, answered
Why is my channel manager not syncing rates between Airbnb and Vrbo?
Your channel manager is likely failing on API credential errors, rate plan mismatches, or orphaned listing connections. Check your Airbnb and Vrbo API tokens first, then confirm every listing is mapped to the correct rate plan on both sides before assuming the channel manager itself is broken.

Rate Plan Mapping Is the Most Common Culprit
Airbnb and Vrbo use different rate plan structures, and most channel managers require you to explicitly map each plan to the correct listing on each platform. If a listing was re-connected, cloned, or migrated, that mapping often breaks silently without throwing an obvious error. Audit every listing's rate plan assignment in your channel manager settings, not just the top-level connection status.
API Token Expiration and Permission Scopes
Both Airbnb and Vrbo rotate or expire API credentials periodically, and a lapsed token will block rate pushes while still appearing connected in your dashboard. Vrbo in particular requires specific permission scopes to write rates versus just read availability, so a token with insufficient permissions will fail on pricing but pass a basic connectivity check. Reauthorize both integrations and confirm the token scope includes rate write access before escalating to your channel manager support team.
Sync Logs Tell You More Than the Dashboard Does
The connection status light in your channel manager is not a reliable diagnostic tool. Pull the raw sync logs for a specific listing over the last 24 to 48 hours and look for failed push attempts, timeout errors, or rejection codes from the OTA side. Vrbo rejections often include a specific error code that points directly to whether the issue is on their end or yours, which saves significant back-and-forth with support.
