Revenue management, answered

How do I get more weekday bookings when only my weekends sell?

Close the midweek gap by repricing Sunday and Thursday nights to act as low-friction entry points, then structure minimum-stay rules so a 2-night midweek stay is always cheaper per night than a single weekend night. Discount the gap, not the weekend.

Minimum Stay Strategy Is the Real Lever

Most managers default to 2-night minimums everywhere, which kills midweek conversion. Drop midweek minimums to 1 night selectively, especially in markets with corporate or relocation demand. Pair that with a longer minimum on Friday and Saturday so guests who want the weekend are also covering shoulder nights to get it. That orphan-night problem largely solves itself when your stay requirements are structured intentionally.

Rate Positioning for Sunday and Thursday

Sunday and Thursday are your midweek anchors. Price them meaningfully below Friday and Saturday, enough that a guest extending their trip feels a real financial reason to do so. Do not flatten rates across the week in an attempt to look consistent. Midweek demand is thinner and more price-sensitive, so it responds to sharper positioning faster than weekend demand ever will.

Review Your Channel Mix and Listing Content

Midweek bookers often travel for different reasons than weekend leisure guests, think contractors, traveling nurses, family relocations, or extended work projects. If your listings only speak to weekend getaways in their titles and amenity highlights, you are invisible to that demand. Audit how each property is positioned on your core channels and make sure the listing copy speaks to stays beyond the weekend.
