Revenue management, answered
How do I check that my prices actually reached the booking channels, and why does the site still show the old price?
Pull a live rate audit directly from each channel's extranet and compare timestamps against your PMS push log. A mismatch means the update either failed mid-sync or the channel cached the old rate and hasn't refreshed its display layer yet.

Verify the Push Actually Landed
Log into each channel extranet individually and check the rate calendar for the specific dates in question. Do not rely on your PMS confirmation screen alone, since a successful outbound push does not guarantee the channel accepted and applied the update. Look for a 'last updated' timestamp on the channel side and compare it to when the rate change was submitted. If the timestamps don't align, you have a failed sync event that needs to be resubmitted manually.
Why the Site Still Shows the Old Price
Booking channels cache display prices on a separate layer from their inventory database, and that cache can lag by several hours even after a successful rate update. This is especially common on OTAs during high-traffic periods when their systems deprioritize display refreshes. Force a hard refresh by making a minor inventory edit on the channel side to trigger a re-pull, or contact the channel's partner support line to manually clear the cache for those listings. Until the display layer updates, guests may see stale pricing even though your new rate is technically live in the system.
Build a Rate Confirmation Routine
Make spot-checking extranets against your rate strategy a regular part of your weekly operations, not just a fix when something looks wrong. Prioritize auditing the channels that drive the highest booking volume in each market first, since a display error there carries the most revenue risk. Keep a simple log of when rates were pushed and when you confirmed them live on each channel so you have a clear paper trail if disputes arise with property owners.
