Revenue management, answered
Before I strip my settings back and start over, how do I save what I have so I can revert?
Screenshot every setting screen and export any rate rules or season templates your platform allows before touching anything. Store them in a dated folder so you have a clear restore point. Do this per property, not just at the portfolio level.

Document Before You Touch Anything
Go screen by screen through your current setup and capture base rates, minimum stays, gap-night rules, orphan settings, and any seasonal adjustments. A dated PDF or image folder per property is enough. Do not rely on memory or assume the platform keeps a change log you can roll back from, because most do not.
Export What the Platform Will Give You
Most channel managers and pricing platforms let you export rate calendars or season templates as a CSV or spreadsheet. Pull that export before you make any changes and label it with the date and property name. That file becomes your baseline and makes reverting a controlled process rather than a guessing game.
Track Your Changes as You Go
Keep a simple change log alongside your saved files noting what you changed, why, and when. If you need to revert partially rather than fully, that log lets you isolate exactly which setting to restore. This is standard practice in any disciplined revenue management process and saves significant troubleshooting time later.
